Post Bachelor’s Teacher Certification Application

    This pathway program allows students who have a bachelor’s degree to complete coursework necessary to become a certified teacher. The Education department will work with individuals to create a custom pathway, where students take existing courses at NWU and achieve teacher certification in a specific content area. In this pathway students complete a combination of coursework and teaching practice, including 100 hours of practicum experience prior to clinical teaching practice. Certification pathways are available (grades 7-12) in: Biology, Business/Marketing/Info Technology, Chemistry, History, Mathematics, Secondary English, World Languages. Supplemental endorsements in Coaching and/or Theater can be added.

    Admissions recommendations: Bachelor’s degree in relevant major, minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, availability for internship up to 20 hours/week, availability for full time clinical teaching practice for one semester.
